Genya & Stan's Story - Hello Roanoke! I'm Genya Kalinina! I launched Hello Roanoke (formerly Best of Roanoke), when I moved to the Star City in 2019. While I was looking for ways to explore my new city, I realized there were few resources available to help me get to know this beautiful region. Determined to fill the gap, I started my Instagram and Facebook pages. My goal? To create a platform where I could share my personal experiences, insights, and tips about Roanoke to help others discover what makes it so special.
Although I’ve lived in other cities throughout my life, Roanoke is my absolute favorite because of its unparalleled outdoor setting, situated conveniently along the renowned Blue Ridge Parkway. I love that on any given day, I can hop on the Appalachian Trail or catch a breathtaking sunset over the Blue Ridge Mountains. So naturally, my content is heavily influenced by the region’s abundance of stunning hikes, captivating waterfalls, and awe-inspiring nature.
What sets Hello Roanoke apart from other city and region guides is my local perspective.
