Help those who are suffering from mental health challenges in the Roanoke Valley

The Mission of Family Service of Roanoke Valley is to support individuals and families as they journey toward lives of emotional wellness, healthy relationships, and a future filled with hope.

Family Service of Roanoke Valley is asking us to rally our friends, family, and networks to support their work. By making a donation to our duo, you will help support more Family Service Counseling, Youth Development, Healthy Relationship Groups, Public Guardianship, and Personal Affairs Management services for the Roanoke Valley. This funding will help bring hope to those who are struggling with a mental health challenge.

Dr. Ally Bowersock double majored in Health Science and Nutition & Wellness at Bridgewater College for her undergaduate degree before receiving a master's in Kinesiology from James Madison University. She moved to Roanoke in 2006, where she earned a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in Education, Curriculum, and Instruction, cognate in Health Promotion. Ally has been recognized nationally for her expertise in Exercise as Medicine, and now serves on the staff at Virginia Tech Carilion teaching medical school students. As co-owner of RunAbout Sports, Ally was named to The Roanoker's 2020 class of 40 Under 40 for her commitment to wellness in our community.

Dr. Tyler Bowersock was the first person in his family to graduate college and has since opened University PT, growing to three locations with over 20 staff. He has been named Roanoke's top physical therapist three times by The Roanoker's Top Docs Poll and was named to The Roanoker's 2020 class of 40 Under 40 for his continued dedication to improving physical health in Roanoke.
