Family Service of Roanoke Valley provides counseling services for individuals of all ages; literally beginning at 18 months.
Forty-six percent of children have experiences some form of trauma. People who have experienced trauma are 15 times more likely to attempt suicide, four times more likely to become an alcoholic, four times more likely to inject drugs – the list goes on, unfortunately.
Youth who participate in our positive youth development groups receive a strong foundation, and they can always depend on the life skills and relationships they develop through our Positive Action®, Project Aim® and Teen Outreach(TOP)® Programs. With our TOP® participants, the seed for a happy, healthy future is planted. They have their whole lives ahead, and will always have the strong foundation built through their relationship with Family Service. Your gift will give more of our neighbors the chance for that same strong foundation to cope with and overcome life's challenges.
FSRV also provides life-saving Guardianship and Personal Affairs Management (PAM) Programs. Imagine having no one else in your life to help you make important life decisions or to help you with your finances. We literally prevent our vulnerable population from becoming homeless and prevent them from becoming victims of financial scams.
